Re: Times Colonist: SPCA honours donors' wishes

My letter to the TC -

I would like to respond to Ms. Troman’s letter in the TC on October 27, 2004 "SPCA unveils efforts to reduce shelter noise," Oct. 22/04

I was told a few years ago the Victoria Branch of the BC SPCA had over $4 million dollars in legacies, all of which ended up in general revenues.

Is Ms. Troman trying to tell us that all of the $4 million dollars received through legacies was undesignated? I think not.

It is unfortunate that the Society works in secret
As to capital fundraising, we here in Nanaimo, are completely handcuffed by the SPCA Head Office
Will Nanaimo ever get the new shelter it so desperately needs?
From vision to reality???
According to the SPCA, work has been "underway" since 2003

How many legacies from Victoria in the last two years went into the Society's general revenue?
