If anyone has any advice on this, I would really appreciate it. A litter of tame, 6 week old, still nursing kittens was dumped at the cemetery on the edge of town. Five of the kittens were found alive, and there is no sign of the other 3.
I was told the name of the man who dumped them, and that this person still has the mother cat. The kittens were 6 weeks old and still nursing, when this man took them from their mother and left them at the cemetery. I've found out that he has done this with all of her litters.
The SPCA knows about this situation, although I don't believe they know the name of the man who owns the mother cat (yet). Are there laws about abandonment of pets? What are kittens considered to be? Can anything be done about this? I've called the SPCA before, and they haven't been willing to do anything, so is there a point to reporting his name to them? What about the unspayed female cat? Any suggestions?
