SPCA dodges by saying there was a "language barrier"problem *PIC*

From a previous CTV newscast: "The SPCA is trying to break through a language barrier with the puppy's owners."

What a load of bilge! The SPCA went several times and saw extreme cruelty and left without communicating? Is that an excuse for letting this go on for weeks? Why didn't they take Charlie Leung?

Charlie Leung has worked for the SPCA for years and in fact, he worked for the Richmond SPCA until he was transferred to the Vancouver SPCA about six months ago.

Charlie accompanied SPCA cops Drever and Eccles to the raid on Penny March's Forgotten Felines in Richmond in October 2003.

The SPCA will not risk any criticism of "cultural differences", not even to prevent the rampant cruelty to animals in the immigrant community. Everyone knows it, but only AAS will say it, because we don't give a damn if we are falsely accused of racism because we don't give a damn about anyone's money.

If the root of the problem is never acknowledged, it will never be tackled and this sort of thing will go on and on. But it makes great TV!

AAS has tried to inform the leaders of the Chinese community in Vancouver of the extent of the problem. We were told that we were lying, we were racist, and that the SPCA has never said anything about this so it can't be true.
