This is an improvement over the SPCA silently taking your dog and, knowing his history, killing him almost immediately. That is a clearly immoral policy and I am heartened to hear that the SPCA did the right thing in this case. Turning your dog away is not immoral. Why should the SPCA or any group take on either the burden of a chronically sick dog and all the vet bills, or the responsibly of killing someone's sick dog? Even if the SPCA did not spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on lawyers fees to threaten to sue critics into submission and silence, it still couldn't afford to pay the vet bills for every sick animal brought to it.

About the diarrhea. You have tried so hard for so long and I commend you for that. I presume you've tried raw? Even if North Van is too far away, Jill is so kind that she will do her best to help you.

And there is a vet clinic on the North Shore which is worth talking to at least, Mosquito Creek vet at 990-3647 that may have ideas that other vets haven't considered.

I hope you're not going to give up yet, but if you are, then your dog deserves not to be put in a grim cell at an SPCA and killed by strangers. The kindest thing you can do if you won't continue to find out what is causing the diarrhea, is to have your vet come to your home, and hold your dog as he dies so that he his last moments are filled with the comfort of your love, not of the terror of being led down a hall to a killing room by uniformed strangers. They know.. and they fight.. and plead and cry and struggle. I hope you will do the right thing if you cannot find a solution to your dog's health problems.
