The Prince Rupert branch of the SPCA raised around $3,000 on Sunday thanks to donation of crab from the Area A Crab Association.

About 15 volunteers served up 300 cooked crab with cans of pop to residents and tourists from as far away as Germany.

The Area A Crab Association donated 150 crab for the event, however, sales went so well and so fast Willy Postulo from Aero Trading managed to wrangle up 150 more.

Volunteers kept serving them up until around 4 p.m
