Evac Order Partially Rescinded
The Evacuation Order for residents of Rose Valley Properties subdivision has been rescinded as of 9:00 am. Residents living on Rosewood Drive, Roseabbey Drive, Rosefield Drive, Rosalee Court, and Rosalee Lane are allowed to return to their homes, but remain on Evacuation Alert and should be prepared to leave if the threat of fire increases again and a new Evacuation Order is put in place.

An Evacuation Alert is now in effect for residents of Pettman Road, Bowes Road, Bartley Road north of Stevens Road, Lenz Road, Rosealea Road, Roserneadow Drive, Rosetree Road, and Parkinson Road from Griffiths Place north to Bear Creek Road. The Evacuation Alert for residents of Dougmac Road, Petterson Road and Rose Valley Road, north of the Rose Valley Reservoir remains in effect and they should be prepared to leave if asked to do so. These residents are advised to prepare for evacuation, pack valuable items, ensure all family members and pets are safe and accounted for.

The Evacuation Order for residents of West Kelowna Road, Blackwood Road, Klein Road, Guest Road and Valois Court and McPhail Court remains in place. This affects approximately 130 residential lots. These people are able to get more information on their status from the Emergency Social Services Centre at the Westbank Community Centre in Westbank.

In order to preserve water for fire fighting purposes, residents of West Kelowna Estates are asked to limit their outdoor watering.

The Ministry of Forests and Westside Fire Department have unified command working the blaze in Rose Valley Regional Park. Crews from the City of Kelowna and Joe Rich Volunteer Fire Departments are also assisting. The fire has consumed approximately 25 hectares within the park, west of West Kelowna Estates, since first reported last evening. Hand guards are in place along the north, eastern and part of the southern boundary of the fire. Five helicopters with buckets and fixed wing aircraft with retardant are working along the north, west and southern boundary of the fire.
