Re: The SPCA is making some progress in animal welfare

Congrats AAS.
The points you make on a daily basis are driving change at the BC SPCA and this must continue until the Agency that calls itself an Animal Welfare Society truly does what it's mandate is.
I live in Victoria and the BC SPCA has a long way to go to truly be considered an Animal Welfare Society.
The cherry-picking of the most sellable animals must stop and if surrender is to be limited , which I approve of wholeheartedly, let it be as the cages and kennels fill, not by who will move the fastest. To take the easily sellable kittens and refuse the mother cat because she is black is not Animal Welfare.
Does the BC SPCA not know that other small rescue groups will be contacted to help those who they reject because they have medical needs, are too old or are not easily sellable?
Does the BC SPCA not understand that it is wrong to turn away the dogs and cats that need help the most and leave them to an uncertain fate? The BC SPCA has a mandate to help those animals most in need and until they do so many of us will keep on posting and supporting AAS because it is the only method that actually works
