There is never a mention of all the people the SPCA attempts to silence by threats of some kind. Gag orders extracted from owners of seized animals 'or your animals may be killed' were common until recently. The SPCA seems to have stopped that particular police-state tactic, though others continue.

The SPCA may have been advised that these "agreements" weren't legal as they are obtained under extreme duress; and in fact that they could be used to show the Solicitor General of BC that the SPCA police are in critical need of oversight and control.

There is never any 'openness' and 'accountability' to its donators about the amount of money the SPCA spends on lawsuits and threats of lawsuits. There have been a number of them in the last few years that we know of. How many people have been silenced by the SPCA by threats of killing their animals or suing them to ruin in court? How many times has the SPCA controlled the information that should be available to the press in a free society? We think this is a question that ought to interest the Solicitor General.
