Just six annual meetings and 100 hours annually as a volunteer director of the SPCA to oversee a $20 million dollar budget and all it encompasses? Considering most volunteers who are also directors of societies in private rescue may average 2 to 10 hours per DAY to ensure best practises are met, I find it truly remarkable that the SPCA team of 16 is able to complete all the needed business tasks required in this time frame.

Compare that to Big Heart Rescue's team of five volunteer Directors. Even at the least number of hours of 2 hours per day each gives, that is over 700 hours a year each.

Perhaps there are telephone conferences that have not been included in this description as it seems hard to understand how this huge organization can be run by a board that only meets every 60 days or so and only has to volunteer 100 hours a year.
