Re: Birds in filthy cages for sale at Art Knapp's in Surrey

I disagree, these birds are very well cared for! I have been to the Art Knapps store many times and have been witness to their detailed cleaning procedures and regular feedings. I have also spoke with the gentleman running the department, who is very knowledgeable and gave me a wealth of tips. I was also told the SPCA is there regularly to conduct their 'checks of approval' and that the aviaries are cleaned daily. Furthermore, the birds do have perches to get up off the cement floor and seem quite content. I suggest you go and visit yourself before making assumptions based on this out of line statement claiming "filthy cages". It is a beautiful place to enjoy the sights of many common farm and garden birds who are cared for greatly.

Whether the cages are clean or dirty is only a matter of degree of their imprisonment
Why doesn't the SPCA condemn keeping birds in cages?
