Mr Lautens April 3rd column addresses the continuing BC grizzly bear hunt:

"The issue isn't how many anything, or about endangered lists. It's about lead ripping through flesh, the bird crumpling in flight, the suddenly kneeling deer, the wounded wolf that crawls off to die (putting aside the unspeakable cruelty of the trap) -- the entire arrogant assault on nature's nation, often by impotents seeking manhood supported by expensive European firearms and American beer."
