Experiences in NWT: wasted lives and arrogance of hunters

I lived in the NWT back in the late 70's and remember quite vividly when my husband (who was an RCMP member) told me about a hunter who had shot 4 caribou and apparently decided he did not want them. He dumped them at the town dump, but they were able to track him down because he left his tags on the bodies. No meat was taken at all, the carcass' were left intact. I remember thinking at that time about wasted lives and the arrogance of hunters. I have met many hunters while working at the Vancouver Int'l airport and I must say, that my opinion of them has changed. Then I thought they were the lowest of the low, and now, a scourge on society. And, can someone please explain the inane, stupid grins while posing with their trophies? Certainly nothing to be proud about! And no, I haven't eaten meat for about 30 years because I respect the lives and rights of all non human animals. In this terrible time of the decimating of all species globally, we should be doing all we can to save the lives of our neighbours not hasten them down the road to extinction.

NWT hunters take only small parts of shot caribou

Does the BC SPCA still condone the hunting of animals by its employees?
