In my experience, the animals that I have known have a greater capacity to "love" me than I do to "love" them.

A cow, if you allow it, if you take the time, is able to teach you more about that great conglomerate of emotions that we casually refer to as love than any other of our species is able.

And a dog is the best empirical teacher of "love" that I have ever come across.
