Contact your MLA candidates now to help save bears from trophy hunting

Dear Animal,

Provincial elections will take place on May 12. Will you help us make the trophy hunting of bears in the Great Bear Rainforest an election issue?

Trophy hunting season is well under way in British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest. This is also the time that grizzly and black bear mothers come out of hibernation to forage in the water for fish to bring back to their cubs. Killing a mother bear sentences her cubs to death by starvation -- orphaned cubs simply cannot survive without their mother's care.

The senseless killing of bears for entertainment is opposed by First Nations, animal protection organizations, conservation groups, and the majority of British Columbians. Please stand with us to protect these bears and save bear cubs from a cruel fate.

TAKE ACTION
With elections pending, your voice is imperative in saving the bears. Write to the MLA candidates in your electoral riding and tell them that you want to see an end to the trophy hunting of bears on the BC Coast and throughout the Great Bear Rainforest.

Then, please forward this alert to other British Columbians asking them to write, too.

Thank you for all you do for animals.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Aldworth
Director
Humane Society International/Canada

This most certainly should be an illegal practice
