Thank Goodness for the caring volunteers that saved Cheech. I can not help but wonder of other dogs that have died at the hands of the SPCA? Were there volunteers too afraid to help out other dogs in similiar situations? Assessments are very hard to do, I understand, and of course, I (as many others do), want only 'safe' dogs to be out in the public. But why has the SPCA refused, as far as I know, to take a look at their assessment practice to see if it working? Because clearly it did not work in the case of Cheech, and it might not work on many other SPCA dogs as well. Perhaps there are dogs 'passing' this assessment that shouldn't be passing, and dogs being put down for no reason at all.
