How much has ever been achieved by "working with the SPCA"? *LINK*

We have fifty years of proof of hundreds of well-meaning people who thought they could improve the SPCA by working "with" it only to have to quit in anger and disgust. Some of the worst clashes have been over the use of the haywired electrocuting machines that "fried" dogs that the Vancouver SPCA wouldn't stop using in all its many branches - even after an engineer's report proved that they were horribly cruel ; clashes over the massive killing of all unsellable stock, and clashes over policies that have seen the critical financial decline of the SPCA from a Society with $9 million in the bank to $4 million in the hole. No one has ever changed the SPCA from within. Asking the leopard to change its spots is never going to work, though every year, another few hundred animal-lovers get on board to "help the SPCA do better".
