What Chiquita’s little body lacked, she sure made up for it in personality. She “talks” all the time and we are able to recognize what she wants. She doesn’t like to be alone, so she comes everywhere with us, sitting on my shoulder in the car staring back at the people who stare at me while sitting at a red light. I am proud to say that I have been thrown out of Wal Mart, Safeway and Extra foods when Chiquita’s head popped out of my sweater to have a look around. She even got her photos sitting on Santa’s knee in the mall, and when I noticed the little wet patch on Santa’s knee that she left, I exited that mall quickly before I got thrown out of that one too.
At Christmas, Chiquita loved to steal baby Jesus from my manger scene and run around the house with Him in her mouth, with me running behind her trying to get Him back. No matter where I put my manger scene, she would always find it, looking at baby Jesus with a look in her eyes that said , “ I know I can, I know I can.” This was her favourite game and I left my manger scene up until the end of February.
