Absolutely - an animal welfare agency should be upholding the highest of standards

Yes, thanks to the SPCA for putting in its bio of this dog that the dog is looking for an indoor home. Those large dogs, including shepherds, are so suseptible to being left outside as guard dogs. Absolutely - an animal welfare agency should be upholding the highest of standards, and more importantly teaching the reasons that dogs need to be indoors and not left outside to potential adopters. I continue to marvel how much dogs are pack animals when my shepherd lies beside me all the time.

I continue to feel it's sad however, when I know that the SPCA continues to allow many of its dogs who leave their facilities to end up as outside guard dogs, and that the SPCA continues to not do enough to curb backyard breeding of these large guard dog types, such as instituting litter licenses, and calling for a ban on tethering dogs.
