Points to consider:

Ladner is part of the Delta municipality and the city counsellors chose to cancel the SPCA contract December 31, 2004. The new contract with the Delta Humane Society includes investigation of animal abuse cases. Why did the SPCA show up and take over when DHS was working with the Delta police?

BCSPCA did not find these pups. A female citizen found the first pup and rushed it to Trenant Park vet clinic where Dr. Kevin Harris and staff took care of this pup and the other foundlings. DHS officers were involved in this case from the beginning once the Delta police contacted them. Why did the BCSPCA intervene days later?

Full credit for the health and welfare of the surviving pups should go to Dr. Harris and his staff at Trenant Park Vet Clinic in Ladner. The Delta Optimist newspaper and Global TV got their stories right, days before the BCSPCA jumped into the light.

Some people do the heroic work quietly and others don't do anything loudly. JMO
