The SPCA's P.R. department has done more to embarrass the SPCA than all its critics put together

"Professional management would put an end to public embarrassment..."

Not only did professional management not produce the income that was promised, but it increased public embarrassment hugely. Nothing any employee did to discredit the SPCA in the past can compare to the self-discrediting the SPCA threw itself into once its P.R. department took over.

The Cheech debacle is only one of many. Cheech showed the media that there was something rotten at the SPCA, as did the raid on Forgotten Felines Cat Shelter, and countless other instances of SPCA-produced bad press. The SPCA's P.R. department is largely responsible for the media turning against the SPCA, something AAS could never have achieved.

A STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS 2006 to 2008
I find fault with two major issues, or rather missing issues
I’d like to see this organization doing less organizing and more ground-level caring
The Society will continue to cannibalize its branches to expand its provincial programs
