The response from Victoria after our ad ran in the Times Colonist on March 5th has been very gratifying. This is a wealthy city, full of wealthy animal-lovers who are very generous to groups that they believe in, but it does have people who want a pet, but can't (or believe they can't), afford to sterilize their pet, and yet there has not been nearly enough help. The SPCA can attest to that as it bemoans the puzzling proliferation of kittens each year.
AAS announced its CatSnip Campaign on February 14th and at the Victoria SPCA AGM at the end of February, the manager announced that the SPCA would be doing a spay/neuter campaign. Real animal welfare seems to be catching on!
