If the SPCA has accused AAS of racism for material posted on the site, I am astonished.
In my view, it is the SPCA themselves who refuse to go out to reserves to work on cruelty and neglect cases, and to set up much needed spay/neuter clinics. Isn't that a form of racism?
Telling the truth about the abuse of animals on some reserves is not racist, it is factual, and even though there are many heart-breaking reasons for it, the fact is that the abuse exists.
In my opinion, the SPCA shows racism when it tells people it can not go on reserve land - when, in fact, it can.
AAS helps dogs from the reserves, and Gail Moerkerken (a defendant in the SPCA's lawsuit) and others from Big Heart Rescue, go on to reserves and help the animals - and by doing so, help the people involved with those animals.
How I wish the SPCA would stop their ill-advised lawsuit, and put their money to the uses it was donated for - helping the animals.
