Posted at the request of Lisa Diana, an animal activist from Nova Scotia:
On September 15th the SPCA branch in Halifax, Nova Scotia will be hosting
their third annual Paws for Cause dinner at the Halifax Casino for 75
dollars a ticket, and a barbeque and yard sale on September 16th at their
shelter located on Scarf Court in Burnside Industrial Park.
This society does a lot of fantastic work and has very dedicated individuals
who take their job seriously, but when The Society for the Protection of
Animals is encouraging people to eat tortured and slaughtered animals to
save other beings, this sends a mixed message to the public as to what
living creatures should be cherished while others treated poorly.
Many citizens across Canada and even beyond our borders are raising this
question with SPCA branches and humane societies that resort to using animal
flesh in their fundraisers.
Please send a polite email to the Nova Scotia branch of the SPCA and sign
the B.C. petition letting them know that these sorts of practices are no
longer expectable.
