They are goaded and prodded up that chute or if they can't walk, dragged by the leg

I can't even imagine the horror that these beings endure whilst waiting for the inevitable. The smell of fear, blood and offal must be horrific. The absolute lack of empathy and compassion while they wait their fate must surely be unbearable and the panic and fear in their last moments horrendous. They are goaded and prodded up that chute or if they can't walk, dragged by the leg. It is my small protest to these atrocities that I choose not to eat meat. The question should always be asked, would I want that done to me and if the answer is no, why perpetrate it upon others who have no voice.
