No animal, and yes, that includes dogs, cats, horses, birds, etc., belongs in captivity

Brava, Lyn! I have long been a proponent of a very unpopular opinion: No animal, and yes, that includes dogs, cats, horses, birds, etc., belongs in captivity. I believe that all breeding by humans needs to cease immediately.
Let the dogs that are wild now, remain wild, and as you so wisely stated, let us help to conserve and expand their natural living spaces.
There would no longer be the need to keep animals caged in Zoos, even under the pretense of helping to preserve endangered species, as they could reproduce naturally in their own protected environment.
Of course, we would all miss our companions terribly, but our small loss would be their immense gain. Besides, I know it will never happen in my lifetime, if ever, as too many humans are too selfish and too greedy to put the needs of so-called 'lesser creatures' before ours.
But wouldn't that be Camelot?

One happy ending to a story that is most often sad and deadly for dogs
Why does this appalling genetic modification (that's what breeding is) go on without more outcry?
