Why have so many people - and the media especially - never questioned why a "humane society" had contracts worth millions of dollars to protect people from animals while doing close to zero to protect animals from people?
And then in 2003, when the BC SPCA did start to enforce the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (along with most other humane societies in North America with police powers), why did so few people question the clear instances of abuse of its police powers when the SPCA brought the media with it to its seizures?
Why have so few people questioned what the SPCA did with seized animals once the media had moved on?
Why have so few people questioned why the BC SPCA is suing AAS?
Why have so few people demanded to know how many others the SPCA silences with lawsuits or attempts to silence with threats of lawsuits, or how many people's silence the SPCA has paid for?
Why have so few people asked the SPCA how much it has spent on lawyers in the last ten years to stifle criticism and complaints?
This will have to change.
