Comox SPCA: Cats could be euthanized if homes not found

Cats could be euthanized if homes not found

Mar 23 2007

The Comox Valley SPCA says it is full of cats and is desperately looking for homes for them.

“We’ve reached our capacity and have had to turn away cats from people trying to bring them in because we have no place to put them,” the SPCA says in a news release. “Unless we find homes for the majority of them, we are going to have to euthanize.

“This is a choice that we don’t want to make but one which we will be forced to make if we have no other option.”

All of the cats older than six months are available for half price. That’s $55 plus PST and it includes the cat being spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and worms.

There’s also a free basic checkup at a vet of your choice.

The Comox Valley SPCA is at 1668 Ryan Rd. East. The phone number is 339-7722.

Comment: This sounds familiar. Seems last August we went through the same thing at this SPCA. Obviously something needs to change.
