It is hard for me to understand the alternatives you are suggesting to the SPCA to substitute the killing of unwanted and unadoptable animals as you do not offer any. I am not a "rocket scientist" and I do not know what else should be done, nor I have heard your alternative. If shelters do not accept animals, then what do the people that are abandoning their pets going to do- just leave them on the streets? What about strays? Just leave them to roam when the shelter is full? Good for your organization for operating a shelter according to your principals, but why not leave the SPCA alone while it does the majority of the work needed to address the problem of unwanted animals in this province and country. Contrary to what you believe, I believe that allowing unwanted and unadoptable animals to take up the limited space that are available to other animals that have a chance of adoption is animal cruelty.

Limiting surrender instead of killing for space is the ethical choice
