I was at the Vernon spca petarama yesterday, and I am dismayed at what I saw. How can ANY spca support a petstore who sells puppies from backyard breeders? This year the spca had a hotdog sale at this store and now they were at the Petarama. Why isn't a petstore who doesn't sell puppies be the spca sponser?
They had a reptile display, who also breeds Jack Russell Terriers, when I asked this women where she got her dog for breeding, she replyed she wasn't sure who the parents were as she bought them from a petstore in Salmon Arm. She said her last litter was an accident, as her female got out while in heat. I find it funny the female ran into a male JRT while she was "out, running at large".
How can the public make the spca accountable for this kind of moral no no? I feel any spca should not link themselves to any type of back yard or puppymiller/seller/breeder.
