My letter to Honourable Joyce Murray re. Wolf cull

Dear Honourable Murray,

My family and I love our beautiful province and all of the animals in it. My husband and I work hard at helping our children understand how important it is to respect all things, to take care of our environment and all of the animals that share our world with us. We have “adopted” Wolves through many conservation and wildlife protection groups and volunteer many hours stream keeping, picking up garbage on our beaches and helping domestic animals among many other things. In 1999 my son and I sponsored a radio collared Wolf named Storm we have tracked him as he wanders with his pack in the Bow Valley in the Rocky Mountains over the last 3 years and even though his collar is no longer functioning researchers report that he is still alive and well. I cannot even begin to explain to my son why our government has decided to “cull” these beautiful creatures. We need to protect our wildlife and our forests! We need to re-introduce the ban on Grizzly Bear hunting immediately!!

On behalf of myself, my family and our future generations I am asking that you stop the “Cull” of our beautiful and endangered wildlife. Please do not allow the killing of our Vancouver Island Wolves and Cougars, we beg you!

Sincerely,

Michele Kleine-Deters
