Kelowna SPCA kills 18 Beaverdell dogs

On Kelowna radio news tonight it was announced that 18 of the 53 husky crosses seized from Gaston Lapointe's property in Beaverdell 4 months ago were euthanized today. Inability to guarantee that the dogs were not capable of aggressive behaviour was cited as the reason. I heard 3 separate newscasts regarding this matter today, and at no point was the SPCA ever named. They were simply identified as "officials". I reserve father comment on this matter until I learn more details, but suffice it to say that I am suspicious of the SPCA's history of using the media: when they're actually enforcing the PCA act they have no qualms about glorifying themselves through the media, but when they execute innocent dogs, because it is part of the job they have chosen as poundkeeper and/or open surrender facility rather than a closed, no kill, real shelter, they magically become simply nameless "officials". Is the SPCA hoping no one will notice that it's New Direction looks very much like it's old direction to me.

Rest in peace, you 18 poor innocent souls, who were never given a real chance.
