Animal Advocates Watchdog

Kudos for Cowichan SPCA, and a happy Wags!

Hi AAS

I just wanted to thank you!!! You passed my name and phone number on to a lady by the name of Anita - she does rescue on Vancouver Island. Anyway, she was very helpful and passed on some info on a couple of potentially suitable dogs at the Cowichan/Duncan SPCA. Contacted them and spoke with Sandi there, and she suggested I come up and meet a couple of dogs.

Well, we found a beautiful guy named Wags and we adopted him on the weekend. He is exactly what we were looking for! I can't say enough about how wonderful he is.

I also wanted to pass on that the staff at that SPCA are just great, and were very helpful. As well, they have a terrific facility there if you haven't been. They are in a rural setting and the dogs have an enormous run area, and the cats aren't caged but rather have large rooms to wander in, and even a covered enclosed porch area outside. What a difference from the Victoria location - both in treatment of the animals and in the professionalism and kindness of the staff! They truly seem to be animal lovers.

We only brought Wags home on Saturday, so I haven't had a chance to take any pictures of him, but the SPCA still had him up on their web page, so I've passed on a picture of my new guy. He really is a sweetie and we couldn't be happier with him! (and judging by the smile on his face when I woke him up this morning - sleeping on the couch no less - I think he's pretty happy with us too!)

Thanks again!
M.G.
