Our ad, "Don't Be Cruel", Province, Dec 19

In case you didn't see our ad in the Vancouver Courier you can see it in the Province. AAS is spending all this money because we want a solution to the problem of chained dogs. We get report after report and with no legal power there is so little we can do.

The only way we can help thousands of dogs, not just a few, and to stop this cruelty instead of leaving a legacy of endless chained dogs, is to make the SPCA carry out its mandate to prevent cruelty, and to make it use the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in conjunction with its Animal Care Guidelines.

Experience and history has shown us that asking, even begging the SPCA to help suffering animals has not worked. Only by making the SPCA too uncomfortable to keep ignoring these dogs is there any hope for change.

AAS continues to investigate reports of chained and isolated dogs; we continue to get them all the help we can; we are writing a new report to give to the new City of Vancouver Council in the new year.

With your financial support we will keep running ads on this subject and others (and paying the vet and rehabilitation bills). You can make a tax-deductible donation by cheque or Master Card or Visa. To see how to donate go to http://www.animaladvocates.com/aas-donations.htm
