Bev hit the nail on the head when she referred to the spending of tourist dollars in Tofino. Tofino is a resort destination, and is almost entirely supported by tourism. I've recently submitted a bylaw proposal to the District of Tofino, to ban long-term chaining of dogs (based on AAS comprehensive report and research). This proposal is going to be read next week, and letters from potential tourists would really help the council seriously consider adopting the bylaw, and rescuing this pup and many to follow out of its lonely prison. Below is the contact information if anyone else would like to add their voice. As it is, the pup is still living in isolation and garbage, with no socialization, exercise or stimulation. It can't even see out of it's backyard prison.
