Killing Is What's Distasteful

So, if the person who shot the wolf in cold blood along the Comox Logging Road (Echo, 20 Oct 09) had a license to do it and was going to eat it, use it as a trophy or otherwise use the carcass, it's alright, is it?
The only distasteful or illegal act here was to just walk away from the kill?
The thing that is distasteful to me is the act of killing, which is what, ultimately, hunting is about.
