Fundraiser for 'exploiting and killing dogs??

The Yukon Quest is built on the exploitation and killing of dogs, and is by it's very nature inhumane. Period!

Therefore, I hope "Valdy Horsdal<valdy@saltspring.com> will see that raising money in support of the inhumane treatment of "mans best friend" is not kind, therefore inhumane. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/north/story/2010/01/22/yukon-quest-shortfall.html

Dear Valdy,

The Yukon Quest is built on the *Exploitation and Killing of dogs*. The exploitation of dogs (or any nonhumans) is not an event to be proud of.
In a world were humans give millions upon millions of dollars each year toward the fight against inhumane treatment of animals, it amazes me that there are still humans out there that also raise/give money in order to support inhumane treatment of other creatures.

Humane means - kind. It is not kind to breed/produce/use animals for entertainment. Therefore, all exploitation and killing of animals is inhumane by it's very nature.

The "mushing industry" does not need support to survive; they need to be shut down because this is the moral and ethical humane thing to do. It is right and just to fight against the injustice put upon the victims of the mushing industry - the dogs.

Praise the dogs; Not the abusers!

Thank you.
