The city *unanimously approved* the implementaion of a bylaw that will BAN the sales of rabbits in pet stores in Richmond.
It comes into effect April 8, 2010.

Thank you to all the councillors who took the time to educate themselves on all aspects of the feral rabbit problem in Richmond and implement a bylaw that will benefit rabbits in the future.

They are a flagship municipality and will be informing other municipalities of their decision. It is hoped that other cities will follow their lead.

RAPS also has to be commended for setting this up and presenting it to council to get the ball rolling. Kudos to them for all their hard work.
