VEGAS: THREE LEGS ARE BETTER THAN NONE! *LINK* *PIC*

Vegas is a 6 month old boxer puppy, excitable, full of energy in spite of being in extreme pain due to her horribly crippled front leg from an unhealed broken leg. She was surrendered to Lesa Ibarra, a Boxer rescue for many years. A bone was about to pierce her skin if she didn't get immediate care. She got it! Lesa took Vegas to Canada West Veterinary Clinic in Vancouver where there are surgical specialists. Surgery was going to be around $5000, and that didn't include after-care. The options were to euthanize or amputate the leg. The choice was clear to Lesa - raise the money. The surgery was performed and last Vegas was free from agonizing pain. She adapted very well to being a three-legged puppy. She hops around like she was born with only three legs and runs around the yard with her foster brothers and sisters.

AAS was asked to help with the bill. We said "Yes" with $500.

Thank you AAS for your donation to help pay Vegas's bills
My own rottie boy lost a front leg at the age of 18 months
Had she ended up at the "humane" society they would have obviously NOT found the necessary funds
