The real work of compassionate animal rescue is done by many hundreds of small groups and individuals who get no government money, and have no money for press releases and p.r. Nor do they kill. Over the decades these women have raised millions of dollars by holding bake sales, garage sales and raffles. Every last bit of their rescue work and fundraising is done by volunteers; and when there isn't enough money, these women pay out of their own pockets.

Find your local animal rescue group and donate to it to keep it alive, just as it keeps all its precious animals alive.

One of AAS's jobs is the raising of funds to help to pay the bills for as many of these alternative rescuers as we can.
