License your cats because it’s the law

If you own a cat and you live in the Village of Clinton, it is now the law that you have to license your cat, collar and tag it.
Council passed a bylaw requiring licensing in response to the feral cat problem that has been plaguing the village.
The program is free until June 15 and residents can drop by the village office and pick up tags for their domestic cats. After June 15, there will be a fee for the cat tags.
A feral cat-trapping program will also begin in June. If a tagged cat is trapped, it can be identified as a domestic cat and will be released.
Council is also considering adopting a cat bylaw in order to control the number of cats residents can own.
