This is YOUR victory. For the first time since we began this quest in 2003, we have a public acknowledgment from a sitting MPP on the need for legislatively enshrined oversight of the OSPCA. Now the battle for a change in legislation can truly begin. The process will be onerous and will take years. Of course, we may be helped along the way by further OSPCA missteps! Anyway, let’s celebrate May 18, 2010 first. We have waited YEARS for this day and we will prevail. We insist on nothing less than legislatively enshrined accountability, transparency and independent oversight of the OSPCA. For those of you on facebook. There is a group with 34,000 members so fired up about the death of the animals at the OSPCA’s Newmarket shelter they too are demanding accountability of the OSPCA. Join the group and tell your story if you wish. The dam has indeed broken.
