As the parent of a Surrey school girl, my family and I strongly urge
you to change your mind about this event. Small animals are dumped
constantly at SPCAs and shelters across the lower mainland once the
novelty wears off. Please, instead teach the children in your school
about animal overpopulation, and how they and their generation can
become part of the solution. If after serious consideration they
still want to adopt a bunny or small animal, there are many, many of
them living out their lives in shelters. Unwanted and forgotten, often
the victims of impulse buys in situations just like the one your
school is proposing.
Please reconsider.
Thank you,
The Barillec Family
