One must also wonder, what is the spca doing to prevent all this killing?
It is what makes me so suspicious of the spca...nothing is being done to prevent the huge numbers of unwanted animals. ONLY due to such huge public pressure did the spca JUST begin to spay and neuter some animals at what I believe to be a very few shelters...I believe Surrey is one of the only shelters who spays and neuters their animals before they leave.
What else is the spca doing???
It MUST do more to prevent so many unwanted animals. It is not doing enough, and yet this really is its mandate.
I will not rest until I see the spca implement some control of breeding by-laws for dogs. One looks at the newspaper and the column upon column of dogs for sale....it is no wonder so many dogs end up at the spca...
