We know that the BC SPCA claims it does not kill adoptable animals; however, we know that they do kill many animals. If their Companion Animal Management Program temperament test is not just a numbers scam, then they should not be afraid to release their kill numbers. The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary uses a "live release rate" as a measure of its success. If the BC SPCA were to move towards such accountability, it would go a long way towards placating critics who believe that they use mass killing as population control.
