This write up is from Petfinder, and is referring to a dog from the Quesnel SPCA.
"Duke was transferred to our shelter at the beginning of May from Prince George. He came into their shelter as a stray, and was wearing a city tag, however with multiple attempts to contact the owner with no success, Duke still remained stuck in a kennel. Duke is quite well behaved, and was good on the car ride here. Sadly though, we think that Duke has some vision problems, whether it be cataracts or something else remains unclear, as we don't have the funding to take him to the vet. His teeth are in great shape for being a senior dog, and he still has spunk. He really loves going for walks, and gets quite excited when someone comes to walk him. Because he is a senior and has some special needs, it is going to be hard to place him. If you would like to sponsor him to get his eyes checked, neutered, or transferred to another branch, please contact the shelter. This pet is: up to date with routine shots."
Apparently the improvements at the BCSPCA that Craig Daniell talked about in recent media interviews, are not so great after all!
And also interesting, is the fact that this dog has been vaccinated, but without a vet check to determine any underlying health problems that may conflict with vaccinating an old dog.
Is this the new and improved BCSPCA that Mr.Daniell has been defending? Seems to me they're still stuck back in the 1970's and nothing has changed.
