Orca re-pod-riation plan suffers setback
VANCOUVER(CKNWAM980)--A plan to get Luna, the lone Orca, back to his home pod is back several squares, after it was discovered a group of Orcas off the west coast of Vancouver Island is not his family.
Researchers at "Orcalab" confirmed late last week that K and L pods had been sighted off Tofino, but Orcalab founder Dr Paul Spong says the whales off Tofino now are not Luna's kin, but transients passing through.
The K and L podders are nowhere to be found.
They're hoping to get Luna close to his family pod so a reunion can be done naturally.
Failing that, the plan is to truck him to an area where the pods normally pass through.
