Pound contracts

I agree with you that WE as a society have a problem, but I disagree when you say the SPCA is not the one that has the powers to have laws changed. They were appointed by the Prov Govt as THE ANIMAL organization in this Province, and that means they do have the power to ask the Govt for necessary changes. The public has to follow an example, and the SPCA is the obvious choice, as they are already the perceived authority on animal issues. Why doesn't the SPCA start rallying the public to support them in proposing changes to our laws? Why doesn't someone at the SPCA start a petition outlining tougher breeding laws and animal cruelty laws, and then get the public to sign their support? There are so many other SPCA's in other parts of the world that have used their power to make things better for the animals, yet our BCSPCA has not.
So what is it that makes our SPCA different? Pound contracts. As soon as they became the focus of the BCSPCA's existence, money,greed,and deceit took over.
