From Manager, Erica Paul:

I just wanted to share that last few weeks we have had.
In the middle of last month, we successfully shut down a puppy mill. 4 of the dogs were rehomed, two were surrendered and have blessed us with 14 puppies, and the dog owner is voluntarily surrendering the other litter to us when they are weaned.
She has agreed to spay the remaining three dogs and to stop breeding completely for profit.

Yesterday and today we hit another puppymill.
Yesterday two puppies were surrendered and one is fighting for it's life at the vet clinic. Unfortunately it has parvo and was untreated in the early stages. It's an 8 wk Shih Tzu/ Bichon/ Toy Maltese cross. The other one has gone into foster care.
Today we went back and were able to get the dog owner to sign over 2 nursing moms with 5 puppies, 2 pregnant bitches, 6 other bitches and her stud.
Now it's a waiting game to see if any of them succumb to parvo.
Fingers crossed they will all survive and that we got them in time.
They are just the sweetest pooches.
Please send you thoughts and prayers to all of these defenseless souls, that they are all safe and will be in the loving homes they deserve very, very soon.
I am also extremely proud of the accomplishment my staff achieved. Through creative talking, perseverance, and the powers of persuasion, these 40 dogs and puppies have a fighting chance and the possibility of homes and families they all duly deserve.
I know many of you are sometimes frustrated with the SPCA but if these gaffers all survive, they will tell you the SPCA didn't let them down.
