Dear Editor:
"The SPCA is hopeless. They show no interest. We should chase them out."
These words were barked out by North Van City Mayor Bill Angus over 40 years ago at a city council meeting.
At that same meeting, the works superintendent was instructed to report back to council on the feasibility of setting up a pound and inspection service to be operated b the city.
We are still waiting for that report.
In the Sept. 3 article entitled, North Van SPCA cages rattled, the reporter noted that a staff report assessing "the possibility of a municipally run pound" may be available in the fall.
