Animal Advocates Watchdog

I vouch for Judy Stone as a reputable, dog knowledgeable person and a devoted animal advocate. I will stand by Judy Stone and Gail of Big Heart Rescue, and all others

Just sent an email to all the BC SPCA management and directors, and forwarded it to Robert Matas, Globe and Mail Reporter.

Thanks for the email address.

To MANAGEMENT OF BC SPCA:

I vouch for Judy Stone as a reputable, dog knowledgeable person and a devoted animal advocate. I will stand by Judy Stone and Gail of Big Heart Rescue, and all others that the BC SPCA has named in their lawsuit against AAS.
I have personally met Judy Stone, and have talked to her at length in person, and on the phone.Judy wants to see more cooperation between the BC SPCA, Animal Advocates Society, and reputable rescue groups, so that together they can improve animal welfare in this province.

While out walking my dogs and talking to other dog owners, the conversation has often turned to discussing my former AAS dog, Kito, a yellow lab/husky. People comment on how gentle he is. I explain that he is a previously abused dog, and was tied up to a basement stairwell 24 / 7for about 6 years. I mentioned that Kito's former neighbour phoned the SPCA to complain about the fact that Kito was tied 24 / 7, and the SPCA did nothing to rectify the situation. The reaction from this statement has often been along the lines of "Yes, I know of a dog that is tied 24/7 that I reported to the SPCA, and they did nothing about it."

I am in regular email contact with Gail of Big Heart Rescue, over our mutual concern for my neighbour's elderly black lab mix, Buddy. The neighbour wanted to put the dog to sleep, because she was moving and no longer wanted the dog.Gail and Monica of Big Heart Rescue worked hard in trying to find a foster or permanent home for Buddy.I respect Judy, Gail, and Monica as true animal advocates with the best interest of the animals' welfare their prime concern.

I help via the internet to find rescue help for shelter animals in the U.S., where the situation is worse than in BC, with much higher euthanization rates. As a result of rescue groups and individuals like myself exposing the unethical practices of certain U.S. animal shelters, great changes have taken place .

I am also doing my part here in BC, by donating funds to rescue groups, and volunteering my availability to help transport, temporarily foster, or do home checks for Big Heart Rescue, Animal Advocates Society of BC, and Hug A Bully Rescue BC.

I hope, along with AAS, that public exposure of unethical practices of the BC SPCA will promote changes that encourage true animal welfare, and the implementation of a genuine "no kill" policy. AAS would like to work with the SPCA, not against them, in their animal rescue and advocacy efforts.

I stand behind AAS one hundred percent, along with many others, including former SPCA employees.I will stand as a witness to vouch for the credibility of the AAS defendants, if the SPCA follows through with the lawsuit it has filed against them.

Thank You
